Neseret is a dedicated Holistic Mental Health Advocate with 17 years of experience as a Mental Health and Addiction Nurse/RN. She practiced psychiatric nursing in the conventional Canadian mental health system for a decade with adults and seven years with at-risk youth and their families. In her role as a Psych RN, she administered and monitored psychiatric medications, witnessing firsthand the impact of unwanted side effects and the lack of deprescribing and safe tapering protocols in conventional psychiatry
Neseret has a personal connection to her work, having been a service user for 13 years. Diagnosed with “antidepressant-induced bipolar disorder” and prescribed multiple psychiatric medications, she underwent a medically supervised taper while working full-time as a Psych RN. She implemented metabolic therapies, including the ketogenic diet, to mitigate withdrawal symptoms. Successfully tapering off all psychiatric medications, she put her condition into remission. She deeply values the opportunity to support people through a safe tapering process, witnessing their transformation as they regain stability and mental clarity.
Currently, Neseret supports individuals, youth, and their families suffering from a wide range of mental health conditions. She helps them navigate the current mental health system, taper off various psychiatric drugs, and implement powerful lifestyle interventions. Her clients move from struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, food addiction, weight gain, lack of energy/motivation, brain fog, numbness, and suicidal thoughts to experiencing mental clarity, mood stability, healthy weight loss, abundant energy, a sense of control, and regained self-confidence, self-respect, dignity, and humanity. Transitioning into mental health coaching, Neseret founded the YouTube channel “Confessions of a Psych Nurse,” providing invaluable educational content on drug tapering, metabolic therapies for optimizing brain function, and enhancing medical literacy.
In her personal time, Neseret enjoys contemplation, meditation, reading, writing, hiking, being in nature, and other mindfulness practices. She also cherishes time spent with her daughter and partner.
